Second generation on-site hydrogen plants released

Arnhem May 8th 2012 – HyGear proudly announced the first shipment of the second generation Hydrogen Generation Systems. The systems are designed to deliver a continuous stream of 42 Nm3 per hour of high purity hydrogen for industrial applications and offer a cost effective and reliable alternative for hydrogen supply by pressurized cylinders or tubes.

Since the first release of its commercial Hydrogen Generation System (HGS) in 2008, HyGear has worked closely with its customers to further improve the HGS-L in terms of reliability, robustness and costs. After several successful trials, the design of the second generation was finalized in 2011. Today, the first commercial systems of the new design were shipped to an end users site where they will deliver hydrogen on a continuous 24/7 basis for a float glass application in a permanent set up.

Marinus van Driel, Hygear’s CEO commented: “The first shipment is an important milestone in our product roll out plan. We are planning to manufacture 12 of these larger systems this year and therewith have officially established this product as a cornerstone in our company’s growth strategy.”
