HyGear, a supplier of industrial gases through on-site generation announces today that it has signed a contract to supply its hydrogen generation system to South Korea for fuel cells applications.
According to the contract, HyGear will supply and install its Hy.GEN technology to produce hydrogen to the South Korean company whose name remains undisclosed for competitive reasons. The hydrogen will be used for stationary fuel cells power generation and fuel cell vehicles.
A fuel cell is an electrochemical cell that converts hydrogen and oxygen into electricity without harmful emissions. Fuel cells offer several advantages over conventional electricity generation which includes high efficiency as it is a direct chemical conversion without combustion and friction. And systems are often scalable without loss of efficiency.
“We are pleased that we are able to further expand our growth into different markets in Asia. This progress into the fuel cell industry further demonstrates our product’s capability to be an enabler for hydrogen energy applications. South Korea is an interesting market for us as the country is one of the forerunners in this industry,” said Joanna Kwan, HyGear Asia’s General Manager.
Providing an alternative solution for end-users of industrial hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen gases, HyGear developed cutting-edge technologies for on-site gas generation. By combining our advanced technologies with traditional supply methods, we guarantee the most optimal method of supply in terms of costs, reliability and environmental impact.
