Gas recovery for metal processing

Metal powder processes rely on high volumes of hydrogen, argon and helium. Once the gas has passed through the process, a considerable share is vented or flared, so you keep buying fresh gas to replace volume that is still usable. HyGear's Hy.REC® system captures that vent gas, purifies it and returns it to your process line, reducing the volume of fresh gas you need to purchase or generate.

Protective atmosphere hydrogen is expensive to source, transport, and store. Once it leaves your process as waste gas, that cost is permanent. How the Hy.REC hydrogen recovery system works

HyGear combines multiple in-house core technologies to engineer a hydrogen recovery system matched to your specific process conditions and gas quality requirements. Depending on the inlet gas composition and the required hydrogen purity, we configure the most suitable combination of technologies, including pressure swing adsorption (PSA) and temperature swing adsorption (TSA), to maximise recovery rates and system performance. We have a robust system, so we can handle gas flows with high dustloads.

The modular design allows Hy.REC® to be configured for a wide range of metal processing applications, with gas flexible recycling capacities and hydrogen purity up to 5.0 grade (99.999%).
