The technology of the Hy.GEN® utilizes Steam Methane Reforming (SMR) and Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA). Additionally, the system can adapt to changing hydrogen requirements throughout the day. Through the integrated purification system you can regulate the desired hydrogen (H2) quality.

Large-scale hydrogen production
The Hy.GEN Grand® is specifically designed for large-scale hydrogen production. Unlike our standard Hy.GEN® systems that use a burner, the Hy.GEN Grand® uses an electric reformer for heating. Additionally, flue gases are eliminated through the included carbon capture technology. This high-pressure design delivers hydrogen at 30 bar without additional compression, making it ideal for hydrogen refueling stations. The transport market increasingly demands larger-scale hydrogen production, and the Hy.GEN Grand® meets this need with a smaller carbon footprint. Through the incorporated carbon capture technology we can recover the carbon dioxide from the hydrogen production process. This valuable byproduct can be further liquefied through add-on tecnology for CO₂ liquefaction. The hybride Hy.GEN® Grand creates high-purity hydrogen with a minimal environmental impact.

In this comprehensive Hydrogen as a Service collaboration, HyGear delivered a complete gas solution to AGC Glass Europe, featuring three Hy.GEN Compact® units (each generating 50 Nm³/hr of hydrogen) alongside a Hy.PURE® nitrogen purification system. This integrated on-site hydrogen production capability gives AGC complete operational control over their manufacturing processes, eliminating dependency on external supply chains.
